GREG KRYSTEK: A CYCLING HISTORY

Greg's interest in cycling began in 1975 when he moved to Wisconsin from Connecticut. He joined a ski/cycling club in Milwaukee looking for a way to keep active and meet people. Through this club he got involved in organized cycling events, eventually doing longer and longer rides. His first ride of over 100 miles was actually a double century out of Lake Mills, WI, in 1976. After finishing this ride (in 20+ hours), he became hooked.

Greg rode around Wisconsin twice with small groups of friends in the late 1970s, riding over 1500 miles in 15 straight days on each trip. On the first of these rides he met his eventual wife, who happened to enjoy cycling as much as he did. They have been married 25 years and still enjoy cycling together all over Wisconsin.
